🧩 The Challenge

Plyable’s early prototype proved the concept, AI-powered actions directly within spreadsheets, but lacked a cohesive user experience. I was brought in to define and design a streamlined interface that made these advanced tools feel intuitive, lightweight, and native to the spreadsheet environment.

🧠 Strategy & Exploration

I conducted a competitive analysis of in-sheet and sidebar-based AI tools to surface common UX pitfalls. These insights informed a direction centered on clarity, reduced friction, and an experience that felt seamlessly integrated — more like part of the spreadsheet than an external tool.

🎨 Design & Execution

I redesigned the Plyable extension from the ground up, streamlining core interactions like cell selection, action triggers, and result delivery, all within the spreadsheet. The interface was intentionally minimal and modern, designed to align with familiar spreadsheet behaviors and reduce cognitive load.

✅ Outcome & Learnings

With no prior version to benchmark, the redesign established a launch-ready, user-friendly foundation for Plyable’s product. Designing from scratch offered full creative ownership and required setting UX best practices early, guided by research and tight alignment with the product vision.
